Lynn Dumas, DVM

Dr. Dumas was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and eventually moved to the East Coast growing up in New Jersey. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from Prairie View A & M University in Texas, and her Doctorate degree from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. The first 10 years of Dr. Dumas’ career was spent in the Home of the Blues, Memphis, Tennessee, where she worked as an associate Veterinarian in private practice, and as an ER Veterinarian part-time. In 2008 Dr. Dumas relocated to San Antonio, Texas for a career opportunity as Chief of Staff at a busy, high volume small animal hospital where she worked for 5 years. In 2013 Dr. Dumas took advantage of an opportunity to work as a mobile Veterinarian traveling around the San Antonio area performing house calls and full service Veterinary Medicine on a fully stocked mobile LaBoit Veterinary Unit. For 5 years she served the pet families of San Antonio, offering full service comprehensive preventative and surgical care. She has many adventurous stories she can share with you about her time as a Mobile Veterinarian!

In 2018 Dr. Dumas relocated to Flower Mound, Texas, which she is proud to now call home. She initially worked as an associate veterinarian, and then promoted to Chief of Staff at a high volume, high quality medical care veterinary hospital. In 2021 she took advantage of an opportunity to join the wonderful veterinary family at Cross Timbers Animal Medical Center, and was hired as the new Medical Director. She is excited to lead this wonderful, skilled and compassionate team, and to ensure that every furry family member receives excellent quality medical care at each visit. Client communication and client education is something that Dr. Dumas is passionate about! She looks forward to exceeding your expectations every day.

Dr. Dumas lives in Flower Mound with her husband, Claude and their two children. Their beloved pet family include a Chiweenie, Averie Rose, a Shorkie (Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix) Jackson, their kitty, JoJo Atticus, a female betta fish, Sunny and an African Dwarf frog, Poppi (the children named the aquatic pets!) Outside of work, Dr. Dumas is on the go with her busy & active children. She enjoys going on long walks with Jackson and Averie, experiencing adventures with her husband and friends, working out, and getting lost in many good books. She can also be heard screaming during NFL and NBA season as she is a huge fan of basketball and football.

Dr. Dumas looks forward to serving this community for many years to come as a family Veterinarian who will treat your pets with the same standard of care she would give her own pet family members.
